My creative practice lives at the intersection of art and design. With a BFA from the Savannah College of Art and Design, I began my career as a senior art director, designing annual reports for clients like Royal Caribbean and BF Goodrich, before co-founding a design agency that has thrived for over two decades. As creative director, I developed a deep love and expertise in print and paper — crafting paper promotions, swatch books, and brand materials that demanded both precision and artistry. This knowledge evolved into a nuanced understanding of materials, storytelling, and spatial design, particularly within the architecture and interiors industry. Our agency’s work naturally expanded into product design with the launch of Crosland + Emmons, a handmade line of sculptural ceramic lighting created for the interior design market — an exploration of lighting as both functional object and art form.
As a multimedia artist, my love for print and typography is not separate from my art practice — it is embedded within it. My work draws from both folk and contemporary art traditions, incorporating antique ephemera — old letters, stamps, photos, book pages, numerical tags — to create layered compositions that are at once bold, tactile, and conceptually rich. I seek to find the balance in the chaos, relishing the raw, unfinished yet detailed edges that reveal the emotion and energy underneath. Negative space and typographic elements ground the work, inviting close inspection and personal interpretation. I often begin with layers of intense color, gradually muting them into neutral canvases that invite deeper engagement. Actual items are embedded into the surface to create dimensional and textural contrast, allowing the canvas to feel both sculptural and intimate. Each piece acts as a visual archive, exploring memory, meaning, and the beauty found in overlooked fragments of the past. I want the viewer to discover a new “hidden” area each time they interact with the work — a small moment of connection waiting to be unearthed.
I’m available for commissions and enjoy collaborating with design professionals to create contemporary custom artwork that enhances and elevates residential and commercial spaces.
